Technical Specifications and Usage Guide

To guarantee an exceptional finish on your vestment embroidery, please follow these technical recommendations.

1. Material Recommendations

Sacred art with high stitch density requires a firm base to preserve the definition of every detail:

  • Stabilizer: The use of cut-away stabilizer (80g or higher) is strictly recommended. For lightweight fabrics or brocades, consider a double layer to prevent shifting.

  • Needles: Use fine round point needles (RG) in sizes 75/11 or 80/12 to ensure a clean penetration without damaging the fiber.

  • Threads: Digitization optimized for 40-weight (rayon or polyester) and perfectly compatible with high-end metallic threads.

2. Design Scaling

The .EMB format offers flexibility to adjust dimensions; however, we do not recommend scaling the design more than 10% without a technical review. Exceeding this limit requires a manual adjustment of density and pull compensation parameters in Wilcom to prevent stitches from becoming oversaturated or losing coverage.

3. Speed Calibration

Due to the high density and detail of the ornaments, we recommend adjusting your machine speed between 60% and 70% of its capacity. A controlled speed minimizes thread friction, prevents breakages due to needle overheating, and guarantees perfect definition in every stitch.

4. Embroidery Test (Quality Control)

We always recommend performing a test stitch-out on a scrap of similar fabric before embroidering the final piece. This will allow you to precisely calibrate thread tension, pull compensation, and material stability in your workshop.

For large-scale designs: In extensive designs where a full test is not feasible, we recommend stitching only a critical section or a small area containing the most complex details of the design. This allows you to verify the relationship between the fabric and the stabilizer without the need to run the entire file.

5. Modular Coupling System and Precision Stitches

Large-scale designs are strategically divided into independent sections, allowing them to be executed in standard hoops without sacrificing the continuity of the art. Each block includes registration points (guide stitches) calibrated to ensure an invisible join. Upon finishing a section, these marks define the exact origin for the next phase; it is vital to guarantee millimetric alignment to maintain the geometric integrity of the ornament.

6. Aftercare for Finished Pieces

Due to the high stitch density and the delicacy of the metallic threads, dry cleaning or hand washing with cold water and neutral soap is strictly recommended. For ironing, avoid direct heat contact with the embroidery; always place a clean cotton cloth on top to preserve the luster and integrity of the metallic threads.
